Timothy Miller, Valle Makoff LLP, Silicon Valley

Timothy Miller is a Managing Partner of the Silicon Valley office of Valle Makoff LLP, named to US News and World Report as ‘One of the 2017 Best Law Firms.’ He founded the Silicon Valley office after 19 years at the leading international law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, the last 14 years as a litigation partner in Skadden’s Northern California offices. He has extensive experience litigating complex cases in Federal and state courts, and continues to provide exceptional service on complex business litigation issues in the technical and financial industries.

 

Mr. Miller has been selected repeatedly for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation. Published first in 1983, it highlights the top legal talent, a mere 5 % of all practicing attorneys in the U.S. He writes and speaks frequently on legal and business issues critical to public and private companies, including mergers & acquisitions, cybersecurity and matters impacting company directors.

 

Mr. Miller received his Juris Doctor degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law (now UC Berkeley Law). He graduated Order of Coif Honor Society and served as an Associate Editor on the California Law Review. He graduated summa cum laude from Whitworth College with a BA in Philosophy, where upon graduation was awarded the President’s Cup, Whitworth’s highest academic honor.

 

A life-long Rader fan and avid cyclist, when he is not working on his latest case you will probably find him at the next Raiders home game or riding his road bike in the hills above Silicon Valley. Mr. Miller has two daughters, one a 2015 graduate of UCLA and the other a Junior at Yale. He lives in Menlo Park with his wife and Portuguese Water Dog.
