What Trial Lawyers Look For In Testifying Experts

Despite going to a strong school, representing major clients and knowing your subject area looks good on a resume, jurors aren’t reading your resume when you testify.  This presentation will look at some examples and feedback from jurors about what they found to be helpful in processing testimony given by experts.


Ara Jabagchourian is a civil trial attorney out of San Mateo, California with a law office under his name.  He has tried cases in numerous fields, including a Ponzi scheme class action, fraud on government entities, personal injury, corporate dissolution, partnership disputes, contract disputes and other business litigation.  He started his career in Washington DC with the Federal Trade Commission, in the field of anticompetitive antitrust conduct and mergers.  He went on to work for a large firm working on antitrust/intellectual property overlap issues.  He was also a partner at a plaintiff side firm where he opened up his practice focus to work on various civil matters that were heading to trial. 

 He has obtained numerous awards, including Top 100 Verdicts in the United States in 2012 by the National Law Journal, named Top 100 Lawyers in Northern California by Super Lawyers in 2014 and 2016, Finalist for Trial Lawyer of the year by Consumer Attorneys of California in 2011 and 2012, and has been recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association from 2008 to the present.  Jabagchourian has published over two dozen articles on various topics and has given numerous seminars on evidence and trial techniques.
