Dirty Tricks or Fair Game in Cross-Examination of Expert Witnesses

How much harm is caused by the cross examiner suggesting that an expert witness was convicted of a crime? Even if the witness denies it?  Is such a question fair?  Attorney Ian Fisher will discuss the line between dirty tricks and effective, but fair, cross examination at the June 25th FEWA breakfast meeting.
