Business 101 for the Expert Witness
CPA and expert witness Rich Squar will present how an expert can set up and run their practice:
• the choice of business entity
• tax planning ideas
• deductible items
• record keeping and bookkeeping
• billings, retainers, case files
• how to use accounting software, etc.
This will be an excellent opportunity for the seasoned expert to pick up new tips and for new experts to get the right start on the business side of their expert business.

Squar and Associates
Rich Squar is a CPA, Certified Valuation Analyst, and is accredited in business valuation. He formed an accounting firm from 1980 until 2002, which he developed into a regional firm employing 80 people. Following this, he began Squar and Associates, with an emphasis on expert witness work in forensic accounting and business valuation cases. Squar is the President of the OC Chapter of FEWA, and a member of the FEWA National Board of Directors.
